Shoreham River Faust.

Yes, apparently this weekend sees the first (and possibly only) annual Shoreham River Fest. An event publicised everywhere around town, yet there is precious little information as to what the hell it actually is. According to Mike Mendacious and the Harald it is a "celebration of the river", so still no clues given there then.

Seems a bit silly to me that the council removed funding and support from the Adur Festival and now start up a different festival in Adur, coincidentally the promotional material for this appears to be provided by "Face Media Group", which is owned by a certain Mr Cunliffe and have quite close links to this matter. It's strange how the same names keep cropping up isn't it?

Anyway, back to this River Farce, according to their Arsebook page, there are to be numerous events, none of which are detailed particularly well, and there will be a car show on Adur Rec, where there will be a park and ride service for people too lazy to walk over the river that is supposed to be being celebrated. I'm not sure if the car park and car show are one and the same, you never know.

The question really has to be, how many people can be expected to attend an event that provides no detail of what it actually is? I can't see it being a huge success even if they do promise a "living statue", (I will resist the urge to make comparisons with "Sandford Town Council" and their thoughts on living statues and "the greater good").

 Back to the Harald.

Again we have Mendacious telling us all about the stuff that most residents of Shoreham already knew, although it is a bit strange to be excited about a Frenchman who once visited our town before he went off to murder a load of Muslims, I wonder if Mendacious knows about Richard I and the pogroms he initiated in London as well, that would be really exciting for him to tell us all about, It's a shame that Hitler never visited Shoreham, otherwise Mendo could proudly tell us all about that as well. Yes, Shoreham has certainly seen it's share of complete and utter b*stards over the years, most of us would rather not shout about this, it's just such a shame that they just keep coming back though.
